GOLDEN ANTALYA
After hotel pickup, drive to Antalya. Antalya has been a famous trading city since the Ottoman Empire and is still known today as a shopper's paradise for its huge selection of spices, textiles, carpets, leather goods and jewellery. First, stop at one of Turkey's largest jewelry centers, which is also sponsored by the Turkish state. Here you can see with your own eyes how small works of art are made from master craftsmen and you have the opportunity to buy high-quality pieces of jewelry at reasonable prices. Afterwards, drive to a leather center and admire the designers' latest creations at a fashion show.
Afterwards you will have lunch in a cozy restaurant in Antalya and then go on a city tour and discover the unknown corners of the city. Then visit a grand bazaar. Here you can buy oriental spices, souvenirs, etc. Later, stroll to the historic old town of Antalya (Kaleici), where the streets and buildings still reflect the charm of earlier centuries. One of the most important sights of the old town is Hadrian's Gate: This structure was built to commemorate the visit of the Roman Emperor Hadrian in 130 by the people of Antalya. The gate is built on two arches, one of which dates back to the Roman period and the other to the Seljuk period. The clock tower (Saat Kulesi) stands above the marina and was originally a part of Antalya city's fortress wall. The fluted minaret (Yivli Minare) erected by the Seljuk Sultan 1st Alaaddin Keykubat counts as the symbol of the city of Antalya. Located on the western front of this minaret, the Ulu Mosque is the first Islamic work in Antalya. After visiting the old town, drive back to the hotel.
